As part of our Suffolk Youth Climate Conference 2025, we launched the Biodiversity Competition – a chance for schools to win the funds and expertise needed to increase biodiversity on their school grounds.
We had so many fantastic entries, with students and teachers drawing up proposals for wildflower meadows, wildlife areas, ponds, vegetable gardens and much more. Blown away by the passion of the entries, our panel of judges chose a handful of winners and runners up. Each received the full funds they needed to transform an area of their school grounds as well as support from M Group – the competitions sponsor – to make it happen on the ground.
The schools received their funds last summer and have been hard at work to bring their proposals and designs to life!
We recently visited Farlingaye High School who have created a fantastic wildflower meadow that is teaming with wildlife! It’s become a place where students can visit in their break times as well as somewhere they can go to learn.
