Sutton Heath: Volunteer tree planting

01/12/2026 | To be confirmed | Sutton Heath picnic area and car park, Woodbridge, IP12 3JD

Wildlife Wise is very pleased to announce that they will be working alongside the Broxtead Estate and East Suffolk Services Countryside Team to enhance the dogs off-lead area at Sutton Heath. To improve the use of the enclosure in spring and summer, residents have asked for more character and shaded areas for themselves and their four-legged friends. As this area is not heathland habitat and is outside the SSSI boundary, this is a great example of carefully considered tree planting which provides benefit to both people and nature. This volunteer day will involve removing self-seeding saplings from the grazing enclosures and replanting these native species into the enclosure area, providing small clusters of trees to provide shade and wildlife habitat.
