What can you do with the loan?

Energy efficiency upgrades are things that you can do to your home that allows you to create heating for your home with less cost to both you and the environment. They also help you to keep the warmth in your home instead of it escaping into the cold.

This can include loft insulation that stops heat escaping through your roof, solar panels that generate energy from sunlight, batteries that help you store the heat you generate for when you need it most, glazing to stop heat escaping through closed windows, or heat pumps that transfer heat from outside your home into it. All of these options can be installed under £15,000.

Why is Suffolk County Council offering this new loan?

The scheme supports Suffolk’s Climate Emergency Plan, by increasing the number of properties which have energy-efficient and low carbon energy measures installed.

An increase in demand for energy efficiency measures will also help support businesses providing those services, meaning jobs, skills development and investment in the green economy.

Suffolk County Council is partnering with Lendology CIC to deliver the interest-free loan scheme. Lendology CIC is an experienced Social Enterprise Lender, managing similar schemes with councils across the country.
